Polysorbate 80 Pale - Yellow To Amber Oily Liquid. HLB Value 15.0. Soluble In Water, Ethanol, Ethyl Acetate And Toluene, Surfactant.

Polysorbate 80

Polysorbate 80, also known as Polyoxyethylene (20) Sorbitan Monooleate, consists of sorbitol, ethylene oxide, and oleic acid. It has a molecular formula of C₆₄H₁₂₄O₂₆. At room temperature, it is in the form of pale - yellow to amber oily liquid. It is an O/W emulsifier with an HLB value of 15.0. It is soluble in water, ethanol, ethyl acetate and toluene. It’s a surfactant with numerous applications in food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics.
